The Johnson Journal

Ok, I admit this isn't normally what you think of when you think of Thanksgiving but this is what our Thanksgiving consisted of this year. We had a terrible case of the stomach flu here at the Johnson house. Kyle started it off on Tuesday morning, followed by Kaedyn, Kaitlyn and today it's Keith who has it. I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning up the carpet, sanitizing and doing loads and loads of laundry. I won't get too graphic here but you can imagine what I'm talking about. Kaedyn had to have 4 baths yesterday. We didn't get to spend Thanksgiving with my parents or Keith's parents this year. It was a Thanksgiving at home for the most part. I did manage to run to my parents house and bring back some delicious food. I ate a quick bite with my parents but it was nothing like our normal Thanksgiving Day dinners. My Mom ended up cooking all by herself because my Dad also had a bad case of the stomach flu. But despite the sickness this year, we all really do have so much to be thankful for.

Kaedyn had her first haircut yesterday. It was a big day! Miss Carol came out of retirement for one cut only -- Kaedyn's first haircut! Miss Carol did a great job, as always. She did Kaitlyn and Kyle's first haircuts so it was only fitting that she also did Kaedyn's first one. Kaedyn looks so grown up with her new little hairdo.

Sometimes I have these great ideas for pictures in my mind but they never seem to turn out as I expected. It was a nice warm day and the leaves were beautiful so I thought I'd dress the kids in white shirts and jeans and go take some pictures. I thought it would be so cute to have them up in the tree with the beautiful fall colors. Needless to say, they were both scared to death and you can see it all over their faces. Hey, I tried!

As they say, "boys will be boys." This is so true of our boy! I had left the room to start another load of laundry and returned to the kitchen to see this. At first, I had no idea what it was. Not to be too gross but at first glance I thought it was snot. I asked Kyle what it was and he pointed to my lunch. He had taken one of my onion rings and peeled the coating off. What remained was what was hanging from his mouth!

We went to the circus last weekend with Nana and Paw Paw. The kids and Keith got to ride an elephant. We even saw a human cannonball. It was really neat! The kids had popcorn, soda , cotton candy and Dippin Dots ice cream. The funniest moment of the night was when Kyle was eating his Dippin Dots and a dot went right up his nose. Talk about cold!!
