We drove to Carlinville, Illinois last Saturday to visit a farm. The farm is owned by the brother of a man my Dad works with. The kids got a chance to ride in a combine and see how corn is harvested. They thought it was great fun! The weather was just beautiful too.

Kyle came out of his room the other day with stuff all in his hair. I asked him what it was and he said, "I wanted a spike." This hair wax was given to me in a big box of stuff by Kara when she was cleaning out her stuff in preparation for leaving for Guatemala. Kyle must have found the box and helped himself. Later in the day he also gave Kaedyn a little hair wax. I had to explain to him that girls didn't really like hair wax. I took this picture yesterday when he came out of his room to go to school. He had done his own hair. He said he wanted to wear it that way to school because he didn't think people would recognize him. (Yes, he did use the word recognize.) When I picked him up I asked him if anyone said anything about his hair. He said, "Nobody did. I think they recognized me because of my Buzz Lightyear backpack."
I love this picture! Kyle and Kaedyn were enjoying the unusually hot September weather by spending some time on the swings while Kaitlyn was at school. Kaedyn must have her sunglasses on whenever she goes outside. She's quite the princess!

Posing by the sign at the entrance to the camp. We spent the weekend at Family Camp with people from our church. It was our second year attending the camp and we had a great time! Kaedyn stayed back home with Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Kristie.

Playing at the playground. We spent many hours here. :)

Kyle found a grasshopper.

We took a drive over to the stables and saw the horses.

Our room was in this building.

We celebrated Keith's 36th birthday on Monday. I decided to make his favorite meal at home because he doesn't enjoy eating out with the kids, imagine that! :) We had almond chicken, rice, carrots and apple pie. The kids couldn't understand why I didn't make a birthday cake. I tried explaining to them that Daddy really doesn't like cake but he loves apple pie. They just couldn't believe that was possible - not liking cake! So, he had a birthday pie for his birthday.

Kyle was VERY excited about his first day of school!
We went to Branson, MO over Labor Day weekend with Nana and Paw Paw. We saw the Chinese Acrobat show on Saturday and it was really great! We went to the 3:00 p.m. show and the kids all fell asleep during the second half. Kyle was completely out even after the show was over. This just proves that kids can sleep anywhere if they are tired!
