Introducing David "Ethan" Harris...
My sister, Kara, holding her first child, Ethan - Isn't he just the cutest?
Love at first sight

The proud Daddy!
My sister, Kara, had her baby this morning at 11:26 a.m. He weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 inches. Ethan and Mommy are doing just fine! I can't believe my little sister is a MOM!! I talked at length with Kara tonight and overall her delivery was really good. Her water broke around 11:30 p.m. last night so Kara, Daniel, my Mom and Daniel's parents all made the 30 mile trek into town to the hospital. She got her epidural at some point early this morning. She did have to push for about 3 hours before Ethan finally made his appearance. My mom was able to be in the delivery room with Kara and Daniel. Everyone was pretty exhausted after the night without sleep but they are all doing great.
Keith and my Dad are on their way to Midland even as we speak. They already had a Labor Day weekend trip planned to go down and help Daniel and Kara with some projects at their house. Little did we know that Ethan would arrive a little bit early (Kara was scheduled to be induced on September 3rd). So, needless to say, I am a bit jealous that Keith will get to see and hold little Ethan before I do! I sent our video camera down with him as well as our good camera. I'm hoping he gets some really pictures of Ethan that we can show the kids. They are very excited about their new cousin. They just loved these pictures of Ethan. I have a plane ticket to Midland for September 16th but it will be difficult to wait that long. I want to get my hands on that little guy! He is absolutely adorable!
Thank you all for your prayers for this long awaited miracle from the Lord! We are all so thankful and blessed! I am sure they will be posting more pictures on their blog in the coming days:

I got a call from my Mom around midnight saying that they were on the way to the hospital. Kara's water had just broken. As of 15 minutes ago, they were giving her a 30 minute rest and then they were going to have her start pushing again. Her epidural went well and she was doing pretty good. I should have news on my new nephew very soon! I am soooooo excited!!!Monday, August 25, 2008

Destin - Day 7 - My 34th Birthday
I had quite an exciting birthday this year. Keith took me parasailing! It was the first time we've ever done this and it was really neat. I have to admit that I was a tad bit nervous just hanging out over the ocean but it was great! I would do it again and what a way to spend my birthday. This picture was taken high above the ocean.
