When Kara showed the kids the picture of her ultrasound, Kaitlyn knew immediately that it was a picture of a baby. But she said, "it looks like a baby Hundley." I wasn't sure what she was talking about but she reminded me that Hundley is the little dog on Curious George. I have posted a picture of Hundley and the ultrasound here side by side so you can see for yourself. I think she has a pretty good imagination, don't you?!
Another fun baby moment was when Kaitlyn asked me if it was a boy or a girl and I told her that we don't know yet. She said, "I sure hope it's a girl. If it's not, I am going to throw up!" Blunt honesty from a six year old! :)
Yes, it's true!! My sister, Kara, is pregnant and due on September 7th. I've known the news since she first found out on New Year's Day and it has been so difficult to keep the secret. Many of you know that her first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage last year so they wanted to be extra careful this time around. She has been experiencing quite a bit of morning sickness and nausea. She was even on bed rest for several weeks very early in the pregnancy. This picture was taken at her 12 week appointment on Friday and everything looks great! For more information on her big news, visit her Blog at: www.dkharris.blogspot.com
Please be praying for Daniel and Kara as they make decisions with regard to the timing of their return to the United States.
This is what I woke up to this morning! The kids and I made cupcakes yesterday since it was a snow day. I left the extras on the counter. Kaedyn helped herself this morning to "breakfast." As you can see, she ate off all the tops of the cupcakes and left the cake part in the pan.
This picture was taken two weeks ago. I had made 3 dozen chocolate covered strawberries to take to MOPS for Valentine's Day. MOPS ended up getting cancelled because of the snow so I sent most of the strawberries with Keith to take to work for his co-workers. I kept about 6 of them for us. Kaedyn discovered them and ate them all! Actually she just ate the chocolate off of them and threw the strawberries in the sink!
In an effort to save time on Sunday mornings so we can be on time to church, I lay out all the kids clothes on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, Kyle put on his pants and as you can see they were just a bit too short! Oops! We had to scramble at the last minute to find something that fit. Our boy is growing like a weed!!
Kaitlyn had her very first snow day of her Elementary School days today. We received about 5 inches of snow overnight. It was very beautiful and the kids enjoyed playing out in it.
The other day Kaedyn and I went to the grocery store and really stocked up. I bought a pineapple because it sounded good and it was only 99 cents. When I got home, I put it up on the ledge by the window to ripen. Kyle came into the kitchen as I was putting away groceries and he had this really strange look on his face. He couldn't speak but could only point toward the window. I said, "Kyle, what's wrong?" With a very serious look on his face, he said, "Is that Spongebob's house, Mommy?" I immediately started laughing and I explained to him that it was just a pineapple. He said, "Wow, I've never seen a REAL pineapple before."
